Julien Dupont graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Liege in 2014. He had a specific interest in horses and decided to specialize further.

In 2015, he started fundamental research on the differentiation of muscle stem cells into endothelial cells and cardiomyocytes and in 2017 he obtained his Master of Science (MSc).

From 2016 to 2020, he was a resident in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia at the same university. He passed the exam of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, granting him the title of specialist in anesthesia (Dip. ECVAA) in 2021.

Furthermore, Julien has a research mandate from the FNRS (veterinary clinician-doctoral researcher), allowing him to conduct his doctoral research on improving strategies for controlling hypoxemia in horses under general anesthesia.

He is a member of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA) and regularly attends their conferences.

Julien is a top-notch anesthesiologist and we very much welcome his contribution. Anesthesia in horses is not without risk and we at Equitom want to get the best results and for this Julien is of course an important asset. Furthermore, Julien also trains young veterinarians with an interest in anesthesia, in which he is particularly committed.

We are one of the few private clinics in the world to have a European certified anesthesiologist in house and we are extremely proud of this.
